They also make me smug because when MY MAMA read to me when I was a little girl she would not have read:
The cats nestle close to their kittens.
The lambs have laid down with the sheep.She would have corrected that to say "The lambs have lain down with the sheep." Actually, she would probably think it wasn't a very compelling story and would have chucked the whole book and read me The Lion's Paw.
